Apple Silicon launch features Shapr3D as next-gen CAD tool
Shapr3D is releasing the macOS version of their mobile app, with full support for M1, bringing their vision of the world’s most intuitive 3D modeling experience to the Mac. CADs on Macs have become a serious contender for professionals, engineers and 3D designers looking for the best possible design experience. As one of the very few CAD apps specifically designed for macOS Big Sur and equipped with the enhanced computing power of Apple Silicon M1, Shapr3D is uniquely poised to become the go-to CAD application for Mac users.
“M1-powered Macs will be the most trusted device for engineers and designers who value a premium design experience and want to be on the forefront of technological innovation,” says István Csanády, Founder and CEO of Shapr3D. “We created a mobile-first CAD solution on iPad Pro as we wanted professionals to have a mobile-friendly tool to design with, and our latest growth numbers are proof the industry needed more options. We’re excited to now be offering Shapr3D for macOS Big Sur and to deliver the future of CAD.”
For discerning users who prioritize a sleek design experience, Shapr3D’s renowned ease of use and intuitive user experience will translate seamlessly to macOS Big Sur, as well. Just like on iPad, the Mac app can be leveraged for concepting, rapid prototyping, and design for manufacturing, with a self-serve model that puts the end user in the driver’s seat of their own learning curve.
Kálmán Kéménczy, Head of Product at Shapr3D, remarks: “With Shapr3D now available on multiple platforms, a broader set of users will have access to Shapr3D’s tool and latest product developments. We’re excited to be able to bring our app to a true engineering workstation that allows for others to create and transform on a large screen, powered by the enhanced processing and graphics power the new Macs will provide.”
“This application alone is justification to own an iPad and it’s now the primary reason I even pick up my iPad at work,” says customer Steve Davis, Creative Director of Shelfology. “The UX fits perfectly into my ideal workflow and now others on the team can get Shapr3D on the desktop, so we can prototype together. What’s not to love?”
Free and pro versions are available for download and purchase from mid November, allowing Mac users to work and create as they would on iPad. Shapr3D customers will have access to additional macOS UI tools over subsequent releases. Users will be able to use one license on both devices and export models from one to the other.
